Website Back on track!

Hi all, sorry that I have parked this site for so long but I'm delighted to say it's back on track! Just a few lines to tell you what has been happening over the last couple of years!!!

Recordings: I have just completed my latest Studio recording ’Making other Arrangements’, in which I partner Cian Boylan in outing out a 21-piece band…full rhythm section, saxes, woodwinds, a big 11-piece string section and a guest vocal slot from Dana Masters. Keep watching this space…release date 23 March on Teddy D Records…Belfast launch gig 9 May Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival, The Black Box!

As well as ‘In-Transition’ which I put out at the back end of 2014, I am also a guest on the new albums by ExMagician - Scan the Blue, Ronnie Greer – The Jazz Project, Dana Masters' new EP Grow and new recordings by Edel Meade and Anthony Toner.

Ulster University: I became a Doctor of Music from Ulster University Magee in 2015 and since then have been Lecturer in Music there. It is a fabulous environment to work and is a Labyrinth of raw talent who are going to change the face of the music industry in Northern Ireland and beyond. Included in our Masters Programme – drummer Darren Beckett, saxophonist Lewis Smith, vocalist Jamie Nanci Barron, while Scott Flanigan is studying a PhD in jazz performance with us…heady days indeed!

Sazeracs: This is a charming regular gig I have every Sunday night in Bert’s Jazz Bar Belfast 9-12pm. It features Steve Davis on drums, myself and vocalist / pianist Kyron Bourke. We do a good mix of originals and original jazz arrangements of songs by the likes of Leonard Cohen, Tom Waitts, Nick Cave and Paul Simon…I guess you just gotta see it. Well there will be videos on the website any day now!

Gigs and Tours: See the Gig Guide for regular gigs…
